Make a Memoir with me and Queens Memory Project

TWO Make a Memoir! A Hybrid Zine-Making, Collage & Storytelling Workshops
Join me in partnership with Queens Memory! I will be facilitating TWO separate workshops this spring at the Queens Public Library’s Queensbridge branch and Ravenswood Branch.
In these two three-hour workshops, attendees will work with Author-Illustrator & Teaching Artist Jonell Joshua to explore her approach to writing a hybrid memoir and craft their own mini memoirs in zine format.
Everyone can print personal photos from their phones on-site or bring photos from home to scan and use in collage. A printing/scanning station and collage station stocked with art supplies and scrapbooking materials will be available for hands-on personal storytelling.
Jonell will guide the group through memoir development using best practices, writing prompts, and a zine-making tutorial to help bring their stories to life.
The workshops close with an intimate share-and-tell circle where each person presents their finished mini memoir.
